Lyla Lies a Lot

“What is a lie to Lyla? It’s simply another sentence that comes out of her mouth. She doesn’t care if it is false. She doesn’t care who gets hurt by it. Getting what she wants is all that matters to Lyla.”

Theo’s unbreakable bond with his son runs deep in his heart. To remain close to Jaxon he is willing to endure his ex-wife’s deceitful talents. That is until Lyla attempts the unthinkable, jeopardizing Jaxon’s life. Lyla can fool anyone, including the sheriff’s deputy that investigates allegations against her. She uses her forked tongue to maneuver out of situations that would land anyone else in jail. And someone does go to jail, because of Lyla. To protect Jaxon, Theo is forced to make the hardest decision of his life. A father’s love transcends distance, time, and evil. Is it enough to release Jaxon from Lyla’s grip?

This subject really does happen

This great read evokes so many emotions and truths that truly exist for many. Love, mental illness, danger, divorce, children that need care, medical care that is scary. Sadly, some things that can never be repaired.

Meet your evil ex…

Are you or have you been in a marriage with a monster ex spouse? Are you or have you been in a situation where your ex will hurt your child “in the name of love” as an act of revenge? Meet your evil ex… Lyla.

Are you a parent under attack by your ex? Are you a parent doing all that you can to fight for the “right” for the relationship with your son or daughter? Meet the hero in this book…Theo. And hero 2, his wife Bebe who despite being punched in the gut over and over again is a pillar of strength for Theo and her stepson Jaxon.

This is quite the powerful read! Especially if you have experience as or know of a friend who fits these characters. If you are reading this as a Jaxon, I believe this talented author encourages you to be discerning with what the truth is rather than what someone tells you. True, selfless love is sometimes harder to see right away.

A great story with relatability!

I bought this audiobook after listening to the authors first book, Foster ME. Both books kept my attention while making my daily commute or doing chores when sitting down to read isnt possible in my busy schedule. This is a great book with a wonderful narrator voice. I think a lot of co-parenting people can relate to this story and the struggle that follows a divorce and joint custody. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommend!

Page 130 – 4th Paragraph

Theo’s lips quivered.  He shook his head in an attempt to push back the ache in his heart.  His body froze in place as he held Jaxon’s hand.  Letting go was unnatural.  It was against every cell in his body except his heart, which commanded that he do just that, let go of Jaxon’s hand.  It was time.  There was no other course of action at this juncture.  Theo drew in a deep breath and squeezed Jaxon’s hand then kissed him on the forehead.  There he remained when he whispered, “I love you with all that I am.”
